About A Unique DJ Service

I have been in the entertainment field for over 20 years. What started out as a one-man band evolved into a complete band consisting of five members. Our main performances were weddings, anniversaries, and corporate parties. We were not only known for our large variety of music, but also for how we dressed and, very importantly, for being a fun group. Our music consisted of 1930’s through the 1960’s rock and roll, blues, country and old time, as well as both German and Polish. We were best known for the way that we did the “Circle Two-Step”, “Hokey Pokey”, and “Chicken Dance”. Someone from the band would go out to show everyone how to do the chicken dance. People hired us because they knew it would be a good time.

We always took great pride when dressing for the event. We each had four sets of tuxes to choose from. I have always believed that “The Band That Looks Good, Sounds Good.” As a band, we were successful in providing professional entertainment and a pleasurable time. Individually as a bandleader, I had a very fulfilling career. The band has cut two albums; both sold out in a short time.

In 1997 I decided to change directions and started to gear up for the DJ business. This is also when my association with Promo Only started. I had most of the equipment and was well versed in “reading” the crowd. It was in 2001 that my entertainment changed to reflect the times and I became a DJ. As a DJ it is necessary to have the latest music, so I joined Promo Only. Since 1997 I have received a CD containing the top forty and popular country songs monthly. In addition, I have also taken advantage of their "Greatest Hits Series." As before in the live band performances, dressing for the event is very important for me; for weddings and corporate parties a tux is a must.

Through my musical years I have performed at numerous events. I have provided entertainment for over 500 weddings. I have provided entertainment for various corporate parties such as: M&I Bank, GTE/Verizon, Communications Workers Of America, Marathon Count Labor Counsel, Greenheck Fan Corp, Good Samaritan Health Care Center, Wausau Club, Hazelhurst Fire Department, Howard Young Hospital, The American Legion in Monoqua, Historical Society in Tomahawk, Festival of Trees in Wausau, and the Christmas Tree Festival in Northern Wi.

My band performed most of these jobs, however, several times I have provided a combination of both DJ and Band. This usually happens when Mom and Dad want a live band and the wedding couple wants a DJ. I always try to come up with the best solution for the situation. In this day and age everybody wants something a little different. My objective is to make sure that everyone at the event has a good time. I work with the other venders to make sure that the party flows well and everyone has fun. I do not smoke or use alcohol at any of my performances, I believe that this is like any other profession; you can’t drink on the job.
